The Creative Zen Stone Plus – whoa that’s a mouthful – is slightly larger than 2nd and 3rd generation iPod Shuffle
models, but is cheaper, has a LED screen, and a FM radio. That much functionality could not be put in a smaller package.
The Zen Stone Plus can hold 2 GB of music or files, and has a battery life that’s roughly two and a half hours
less than any iPod Shuffle, but that’s due to its LED screen, which sucks power faster. The sound quality of the Zen
Stone Plus is, in our opinion, superior to that of any iPod shuffle.
The stock earbuds, like with any product, are decent but leave something to be desired, so it’s a good idea to purchase a better pair. Sennheiser makes good earbud-style ‘phones for around twenty dollars.
Transferring files can be done through Windows Explorer, iTunes, or Creative’s software. We recommend the former two options, as Creative’s software can be a little bit slow and buggy.
The Zen Stone Plus is perfect for working, working out or zoning out, and what’s great is you can either listen to your
own songs or tune into a FM radio station. At less than fifty dollars, it’s just too much of a bargain to pass up.
