Sony Spills Specs on X1000 Walkman

We're intrigued by the granite-covered casing of Sony's latest Walkman. Sure it's different but we can't tell if it looks more like it's recently been through a major sandstorm or if Sony is going for a retro "tough" look (possibly even a countertop camouflage, but that seemed like a stretch, even for Sony). Either way, with the release of the full specs, we finally have something more to judge the X1000 than just the case.
Sony is taking OLED technology as far as anyone at this point. The Sony NWZ-X1000 series player comes with a 3-inch OLED touch screen. It seems a waste of OLED technology, though, because the natural resolution for the screen is 432 x 240, but it will only display at 320 x 240. Check out some of the other specs:
- 32GB storage
- MP3, AAC, WMA audio support
- AVC, H.264, MPEG4, WMV video formats
- FM tuning
- WiFi internet browsing with YouTube support
- Battery Life: 33 hour music playback, 9 hour video playback
There is still no confirmed US release date, but we're hoping it will be soon. To compare MP3 players, see the MP3 player review site. For more tech news, check out the TTR Tech News Blog:
