Microsoft Officially Announces Zune HD

It's a small victory for the rumor mill because it looks like the leaks were spot on. Microsoft has made the Zune HD official and it looks just like we expected it to. Fine, but will the specs make it worth notice?
Microsoft hasn't really given us much to go on with the official Zune HD site; it's more of a teaser. But there are some interesting specs that have grabbed our attention. Here's the full rundown:
- 3.3 inch OLED display (480 x 272 resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio)
- Capacitive touchscreen with multitouch capability
- HD Radio receiver
- HD video out (720p with docking station)
- Wi-Fi
- Web browsing with multitouch gestures
We're glad that the Zune HD can finally take full advantage of the Wi-Fi features the player has always had. Another improvement is the integration with the Xbox environment in order to get video (and potentially music in the future). The details are still sketchy on this part, but Microsoft plans to reveal more at E3.
Unfortunately, we don't know much more than that. Microsoft hasn't named a price, shown the UI or the touchscreen in action, and the release date is an ambiguous "early fall" for now. Stay tuned for more info as it's revealed.
