Apple has made quite a few changes in this version of the iPod. Trying to keep up with portable video giants like Archos and iRiver, Apple has introduced some key changes to make this iPod a competitor in viewing videos.
With a 2.5-inch display and 320x240 pixel resolution, the iPod video has a great screen for viewing videos for long periods of time. The screen is not too small to strain your eyes, but it’s still compact enough to fit comfortably in your hand.
The iPod video supports many different video files like MP3, AAC, WAV, AIFF which means you won’t have to go through the long and oftentimes painful process of converting video files into ones that can be played on your player. It makes watching video that much more enjoyable.
For the most part, experts liked the updates on the iPod video that made it easier to watch video on the iPod. Experts were concerned that the newer, flatter design would make it more difficult to hold the iPod for extended periods of time.
Users liked that the iPod was geared more toward video but they noticed several things the iPod video is missing. Most of those have been corrected in later models like the iPod Touch or even the iPhone.
The iPod Video is a great portable video player with the trendy Apple name on the back. However, there are some drawbacks in it that Apple has fixed with newer versions.
