This tiny player packs a mean punch. The simply named Zen is the newest player to the Creative line-up and is poised to replace the popular hard drive model, Vision:M.
The Zen supports a large array of compatible audio and video formats including MP3, protected WMA and unprotected AAC; WMV and AVI video and JPEG photos. The Zen also has an SD expansion slot, an FM tuner, voice recorder and 2.5 inch screen; all of this in a tiny 2.3 ounce device.
With 16 GB of integrated storage, this player is one of the largest (storage capacity) flash players on the market making it a user and critic favorite. Many feel it rivals the nano, especially in screen size and format compatibility. Incidentally, the most frequent complaint about the Creative Zen has nothing to do with the MP3 player itself. Many found the bundled software included with the player to be cumbersome and sometimes difficult to use. Fortunately, you can simply use Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer to transfer all your media to the Zen.
With its small size and large capacity, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better iPod alternative.
